As a panelist, you are invited to join us in several sessions and watch diverse content: from sports to award shows, episodes on streaming platforms, and even podcasts!

Every time you join us for a session, Mediaprobe’s sensor paired with the mobile app makes your voice heard by networks, apps, advertisers, and media producers – to adjust their content according to how you FEEL about it!

MPanel Panelist Area

Overview

Mediaprobe’s consumer panel is a worldwide community of people who take part in our media testing sessions. To help us understand the impact of multimedia content (TV, radio, or digital), we measure panelists’ emotional reactions while watching and/or listening to the content. The unique thing about our solution is that research takes place where people consume content the most: their homes!

We are proud of the technology we have built from the ground up to take media measurement to the next level. However, none of this would be possible without each of our amazing panelists! We appreciate every member and are thankful for everyone who joins us in this exciting media measurement endeavor.

Our team will remind you, as a member of our MPanel, about the ongoing sessions and projects so you can complete them successfully and get rewards while shaping the future of media!

Best practices | instructions

There are some things you need to do before each session to ensure you have a smooth experience with us!

Before the session

  • Ensure your sensor is fully charged. 
  • Make sure your hands are clean and dry. 
  • Always use a new pair of electrodes for each session. 
  • Attach them to the sensor and peel back the plastic cover. 
  • Position the sensor on your non-dominant hand (use your dominant hand to operate the MP MediaTest app). 
  • Avoid using a cover on your phone for optimal functionality.

Starting the session

  • Access the app using your sensor. Refer to Log In Instructions in case you have any issues. 
  • Tap the Sessions tab and choose the session you want to join. 
  • There are two screens inside this tab: 
    • Invitations for the list of sessions you’ve been invited to take part in. 
    • Available for sessions you’ve already accepted the invitation. 
  • Access the invite a few minutes before the start of the session. 
  • You need to watch the entirety of the content as requested via email, including the breaks. Always join a few minutes before the start, and leave a couple of minutes after. 
  • The screen of your device MUST remain unlocked during the entire session. 
  • Grant all necessary permissions for a seamless experience. 
  • Click the “Ready to Start” button and ensure the sensor is connected. 
  • Press Start.

During the session

  • While watching the target content, press Like or Dislike whenever you feel it is appropriate. 
  • The sensor should always be blinking green for the entirety of the session. 
  • In case you need to take a break during the session, please leave the session, then re-access the invite. Never pause or rewind/skip the content of interest. 
  • If you have any questions during the session, you can use the chat function located below the like/dislike menu. Use the chat for questions during sessions, but always refer to our email in case you’re not taking part in a session: support@mediaprobe.com.
  • Once the target content finishes, please wait one or two minutes and press the Finish Session button.

After the session

Most sessions will have a survey right after you finish them. Make sure you complete it to ensure you’ll be rewarded.

MPanel FAQs

In case you need additional information to clarify any doubts you have, here are the answers to some of the most frequently asked questions (FAQs) from our panelists.

What is the correct smartphone app I should use?

MP MediaTest is the app you should be using. The MP MediaTest app is available on Android and iOS.

Can I pause the content or take breaks?

 You can take small breaks whenever needed; just remember to press “Pause” and “Resume” accordingly. The only thing we ask is that you please ensure you never pause the content playing on your TV/PC. For those types of sessions, we need you to be watching everything live.

What is the difference between live and digital sessions?

In live sessions, you will be asked to watch a specific show or event live while wearing our sensor. In digital sessions, we will provide the content, and you will be able to access it through the visualization area on your PC.

What/where is the visualization area?

The visualization area is for the digital sessions and it can be found at https://tester.app.mediaprobe.com/auth/login.

What do I do when I am about to run out of electrodes?

When you have only 10 electrodes remaining, please fill out the form on the following page: https://www.mediaprobe.com/MPanel. We usually ship these weekly, and they take about two weeks to arrive.

What do you do with the data collected? Can I see some of it?

Some use cases can be seen on our website, and we also share some insights across our social media channels. We cannot share more detailed results with panelists, as that might influence your responses in future sessions.

Mobile App FAQs

What is the MP MediaTest app and how do you use it? Read the answers to the most common mobile app FAQs. The MP MediaTest app is available on Android and iOS.

1 Select the option “Sensor” on the main screen of the app.
2 Shake the sensor lightly until a blue light appears, and wait for it to log into your account.

2 Turn off and on the Bluetooth on your mobile.

3 Reset the sensor: Connect the sensor to the charging cable (red light should blink) and disconnect right away (it should start blinking blue when you shake the sensor), so that the sensor is able to reconnect. Verify if the connection problem is solved. If not, move to the following steps.

4 If the options did not work, please re-install the app.

5 If the problem persists, please contact us through support@mediaprobe.com.

6 Make sure you have an internet connection.

1 Use new electrodes every time you take part in a new study.

2 Remove the plastic protection from the electrodes and stick the sensor to the palm, close to the limit of the fingers. Reinforce the placement using the silicone band provided.

3  Avoid making sudden movements with your hand during studies.

4 If the problem persists, please switch the electrodes, and check your signal again.

2 Clean hands, and change the electrodes.

3 Remove the protective plastic from the electrodes, and place the sensor on the palm of the hand again.

1 When you’re ready to start a session, you should click on “Accepted Sessions on the “Home menu or click on “Sessions on the app menu and select “Accepted.

2 Select the session you want to do, and click on “Start.

3 Follow the instructions and “Let’s Go.

To charge your sensor, use the USB cable sent by us.

Charge the sensor at least two hours before a session, until the LED turns green.
